About Vanguard Direct Family Medicine

Dr. Hoffman, voted one of Nashville’s top doctors the last two years.
We have been honored with several Best Practice Awards by PPRNet, a national research group dedicated to combining research with improving healthcare. We ranked in the top 10% of practices in the research group. Our patients are much more likely to be up-to-date on well care screenings: immunizations, pap smears, mammograms, and colon cancer, prostate cancer, and blood pressure screenings than the average patient.
Vanguard Direct Family Medicine underwent the same strict standards to become a Patient Centered Medicine Home improving the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of patient care. Our patients receive exceptional care for diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, and other chronic diseases as well as illness, depression, tobacco and alcohol abuse.
Before becoming a Direct Primary Care provider, Family Practice Partners operated as a traditional practice that accepted insurance. Some of the hoops that these traditional practices jump through include quality ratings. While Dr. Hoffman is delighted to have been ranked as preferred by many insurance companies, she is even happier that she is no longer subject to ratings. No more quality ratings; just quality time between her and her patients.
Dr. Christine Hoffman
After practicing in Murfreesboro for 18 years, Dr. Christine Hoffman opened the first Direct Primary Care (DPC) office in Murfreesboro on March 25, 2017. The transition from her established practice to the Direct Primary Care model allows Dr. Hoffman to continue to provide the highest quality care, for which she has been rated by insurers in the past, while continuing to focus on her patients’ needs with unmatched affordability and convenience. The DPC model will allow more time and attention to her patients and provide all services at a major discount so her patients can get the best for their health care dollars. Therefore, Vanguard Direct Family Medicine does not accept insurance.
Dr. Hoffman graduated with her medical degree from The University of South Florida College of Medicine in 1993. She completed her residency in 1996 at The Medical Center of Beaver in Beaver, Pennsylvania.
From 1996-1998, Dr. Hoffman was an Associate Clinical Professor at East Carolina University College of Medicine in Greenville, North Carolina before joining Physician Partners of Middle Tennessee in 1998. In 2000, she went into private practice with Family Practice Partners where she was a partner for over 16 years.
It is Dr. Hoffman’s love of science and learning about the greatest feat of engineering, the human body, that made her want to become a doctor. She loves the ability to use her knowledge to help people, which is evident by her extensive volunteer work. In her office, she precepts Nurse Practitioner and Medical Assisting Students. She has served as a board member for St. Rose Catholic School and currently volunteers with the youth group.
In Dr. Hoffman’s downtime she loves spending time with her husband, Dr. Ron Blockley, DMD, along with their two children and cat. She is also a gardening enthusiast and lover of tennis, hiking, biking, and reading.
Michelle grew up in Rutherford County and attended Riverdale High school. After graduation, she attended Fugazzi College of Buisiness and Technology in Nashville she earned her Medical Assisting degree.
Before joining Dr Hoffman in Vanguard Direct Primary Care, she worked at a local Pediatric clinic for ten years. She then joined Dr Hoffman’s previous Family Medicine practice where they worked together for four years.
Michelle enjoys horseback riding and baseball but her biggest enjoyment is spending time with her son, Blaine.
